Sometimes WWE posts something on social media that feels like a deliberate dig at former WWE Superstars. For example, the social media team put up a reel where John Cena and AJ Mendez aka AJ Lee are kissing!
Now, of course, they put it up as a Valentine’s Day post to celebrate the day of love. Considering almost everything inside the ring is about rivalry and fights, the few moments of love are cherished by the WWE Universe.
John Cena has been away from WWE since SummerSlam 2021
The Champ’s last appearance was at SummerSlam 2021. He went up against Roman Reigns for the WWE Universal Championship. He returned to the company at Money in the Bank 2021 and started a feud with Roman Reigns that lasted all the way till SummerSlam 2021. When he left again, he promised to be back soon. However, it doesn’t seem like he’ll come back anytime soon.
On the days when he wasn’t on TV, Cena worked in dark matches. In fact, he worked in a couple of dark matches after SummerSlam 2021. As of now, he’s not actively working with WWE anymore. It’s unknown if he plans to come back anytime soon considering his Hollywood schedule is quite packed. After the huge success of The Peacemaker series, he’ll start shooting for the movies that he has already signed contracts for.
John Cena Reveals Vince McMahon Almost Turned Him Heel Once
Professional wrestling legend and a future WWE Hall of Famer John Cena who is a former sixteen times WWE World Champion recently said that Vince McMahon once wanted to turn heel and what Cena said in response. John Cena is indeed one of the biggest names not only in WWE but in the world of professional wrestling as well. He remained the face of WWE for over a decade and of course he was a huge attraction. He won the WWE World Championship for a record number of 16 times. Nobody else could win so many World Championships in WWE history.
But a common complaint has always remained with him was he never turns heel after he became the face of WWE. When he started his main roster career in WWE, he played a heel role for nearly a year. He turned babyface in late 2003 never to turn heel once again. This is the reason why a lot of WWE fans hated him. There were a lot of fans who only wanted to see him as a heel wrestler, but the wish was never been granted.
Fans often wonder why WWE never turned heel. Every big name in the promotion who remained face of the promotion has turned heel. Stone Cold Steve Austin, The Rock, Bret Hart, Shawn Michaels, the Undertaker in and even Hulk Hogan turned heel. The only person who never turned heel was John Cena. A lot of fans believe that it was because of the PG product of WWE. Majority of fans also believe that the PG product of WWE is also responsible for the downgrade of the promotion. John Cena is now fully focused on Hollywood. So it is nearly impossible to see him as a regular heel ever in professional wrestling.
John Cena has always been open about not having a kid, ever. He does not want parenthood because he does not want to be a father who always remains busy with his career. This was one of the reasons why his relationship with Elizabeth Huberdeau came to an end.
But we’re not jumping to the end of the story, right away but would rather provide a synopsis of her part in the life of WWE’s Cenation Leader.
- Born on September 28, 1979, Elizabeth Huberdeau is a resident of West Newbury, Massachusetts, the place where John Cena is billed from, too.
- Also known as Liz Cena, Elizabeth Huberdeau is supposedly to be the high school sweetheart of John Cena. Although no details are available on her schooling, Cena attended two high schools: Central Catholic High School and Cushing Academy, which are both located in Massachusetts. So it’s possible that the duo met in one of these schools and started dating.
- After the completion of High School, Elizabeth Huberdeau moved to college. She assumed to have studied with business management where John Cena had completed his higher education with a Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Physiology and Body Movement.
- Both of them were extremely private and never accepted of seeing each other as John Cena was focused on solidifying his spot on the top of the WWE roster in the mid-2000s. The two continued their relationship, in the meantime.
- While promoting his 2009 film 12 Rounds, Cena announced his engagement to Elizabeth Huberdeau. It was for the first time that he publicly acknowledged his wife. They got married on July 11, 2009.
- On May 1, 2012, the former WWE Champion filed for divorce, which was finalized on July 18. It is said that the couple had a disagreement about the remodeling of their home.
- For some reason, Elizabeth Huberdeau and her lawyers were convinced that John Cena was having an affair outside the marriage, probably at his workplace, as he took an abrupt decision to get divorced. The Rock defeated John Cena at Wrestlemania that year and following that he stated that the effects of the divorce weren’t giving him good vibes, at all. The real reason for the divorce always remained private.
- While John Cena moved into his next partner following the divorce, Elizabeth Huberdeau established herself as a real estate agent who deals with construction, trading, buying, and refurbishing of business or residential buildings. She assumed to have received a huge settlement package worth $60 million after her divorce from Cena.
